  • KDK-Harman Foundation proudly announces the winners of the inaugural KDK-Harman GED Award of Excellence on the GED Page.

 

  • KDK-Harman Foundation was proud to be a part of the Grantmakers for Education Conference: Crossing Borders and Boundaries: Re-Envisioning Education Philanthropy for a New Era on October 17-19, 2007 in Tamaya, New Mexico. KDK-Harman Program Officer, Jennifer Esterline, is organizing a panel session in collaboration with the Ford Foundation titled, “From the Corner to the Classroom: Community-led “Grow Your Own” Efforts to Improve Teaching Quality.” This session will highlight one of our grantees, Capital IDEA, a nonprofit that empowers teacher aides to become highly qualified and certified teachers.

 

  • In addition, President and Founder, Janet Harman was part of a second panel session at the GFE Conference which will discuss, “Can Out-of-School Programs Raise In-School Achievement?” This session will highlight our out-of-school time grantees, such as Citizen Schools and Badgerdog.
