The KDK-Harman Foundation seeks to provide the nonprofit community with many resources to make the grant application and management process transparent and helpful. Before one begins the process of writing a Letter of Inquiry or a Grant Application, we suggest that nonprofits thoroughly review our website including: Reviewing the grants previously awarded by the Foundation will provide insights into the kinds of organizations and programs that we typically support. The Grant History Database can be searched by year, geographic region, or initiative. We have provided details of what the funds supported as well as background about the grantee. In addition, we have included several resources on evaluation that might assist with the structure of a program’s goals and outcomes and how to evaluate the program/organization over time. The Evaluation area provides in-depth information about KDK-Harman's evaluation process as well as Common Framework of Outcomes, Evaluation Indicators, Using Logic Models, and a Sample Logic Model. In addition, refer to the Evaluation Resources in the Knowledge Center. Writing an effective grant proposal is an important part of the grant seeking process. Often it can be a challenge to clearly communicate essential information about a program in a limited number of pages. Developing a proposal also requires planning, research, and outreach to, and cultivation of, potential foundation and corporate donors. We hope that providing resources will assist grant seekers in the development of quality proposals. Refer to the Grantwriting Resources in the Knowledge Center.
