Texas Primaries and Beyond: Insights on Education Politics and Policy for Texas Foundations

Neither Chairman of the Texas Legislature's public education committees will be returning to the Capitol in 2013. The Texas Education Agency remains without a Commissioner.  Multiple lawsuits are pending against the Texas school finance system.  Runoff elections in late July leave the Capitol holding its breath.  Recent directives on the state budget point toward more cuts to public education. 

Summer 2012 will be one of change for public education in Texas.  Please join the KDK-Harman Foundation and Frontera Strategy for an update on what's happening at the Texas Capitol and what it means for education grantmakers in Texas and beyond.  Topics to be covered during this one hour call include Capitol committee musical chairs, the state budget outlook, the activity of legislative interim committees, and the impact of changing politics on education policy.
