Foundation Launches New Web Site Print E-mail

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 7, 2008 — KDK-Harman Foundation, Central Texas’ 13th largest family philanthropy, announced today that its revamped www.kdk-harman.org site has gone live. The new Web site evidences the first phase in a more sophisticated communications strategy for community outreach.

A specific tactic purposely designed to streamline the grant application process, the new Web site showcases KDK-Harman’s high-engagement strategy to promote a culture of giving excellence. It provides key information regarding KDK-Harman grantmaking, consulting services, advocacy efforts, and other Foundation activities. www.kdk-harman.org also empowers site visitors to learn more specifically about Central Texas’ education crisis and what KDK-Harman and its partners are doing to combat it.

“The new communication strategy, of which the Web site is an integral part, exists to help our community better network to treat education needs in Central Texas,” KDK-Harman President and Founder Janet Harman said. “It also represents one of our many efforts to continuously improve communications with both our grantee partners and with agencies who are interested in applying to the Foundation for a grant.  Finally, we hope it will serve as a resource tool for anyone interested in the state of education today.”

KDK-Harman interviewed several Web site design companies and selected NPower Texas, an affiliate of the NPower Network based in Seattle and also a nonprofit dedicated to assisting other nonprofits with their technology needs, to create the fresh site.  www.kdk-harman.org follows the launch of KDK-Harman Consulting services and recent operational changes occurring at the organization; all in effort to leverage and build upon the momentum of the Foundation's activities.
